Production Honey Trap

PRODUCTION

They found the actors through local agneies, schools, , centres and street casting. this is where they go to a specific placer and look on the street for a person that suits their needs of the character.
The cast was:
Jessica Sula - Also in Skins
Lucien Laviscant
Naomi Ryan
Danielle Vitallis
Lauren Johns
Tosin Cole
This is just the majority of the cast i Selected out the main ones

The movie was filmed in Brixton thisnis where the real incident happened. She has been working with people in the Brixton community for about 10 years so this is already some experiance. This also shows how Brixton is an important area to her.
Their budget was very low so i doubt they would be able to buy a high cinema quality camera to film

DISTRIBUTION

Anchor bay distributed her movie for her. This is good and anchor bay also distributed other movies which is experiance. They have distributed films like sin city, a bell for Christmas and giver. This film was released locally to different cinemas i dont think it was good that that distributed it locally as they may not get views worldwide. This could have improved the amount of views by a lot

MARKETING

They marketed this movie particularly to young urban youths i think this is a good audience as they are normally intersted in these type of movies as it has a sly link to them. They marketized they're movie on applications aswell i think this is good as plenty of people use applications in our generation. They used applications like whatsapp and bbm. They also used social media sites like Facebook twitter and tumble this is good as it helps their movie get about.

EXHIBITION

They are going to release this movie fully in February 2015 in west end cinema this is good as there are plenty of tourists there which may also watch the movie giving the movie honey trap a wider fan base. However now they have a restricted release and they are only releasing it on 2 screens uve cinema and a cinema at west end. I think this is also good as it is making people who haven't watched the movie wanting to see it more in feburary

HONEY TRAP

This film is about Layla she is 15 and has been living in Trinidad. Returned to her estranged mother in London, she is faced with settling into a new home and a new city with a fresh set of rules and codes. Unsupported by her mother and spitefully rejected by her female peers, she is drawn to the brooding Troy, who marks her as his "Trini princess." When that fails, she takes solace in the friendship of Shaun, another admirer, but her desperate need for acceptance leads to a tragic betrayal of his kindness.

The Film 'HONEY TRAP' was written and directed by Rebecca Johnson and edited by John Dwelly.

The first piece of finance for Honeytrap came from a grant for the training and mentoring scheme that was run alongside production from a longstanding local funder, the Walcot Foundation.

This film was made quiet a while ago foreshadowing another movie named My Murder. These were both of the same incident just a different director nd editor

The film have many social networks where they promote their latest updates. For example they have a Facebook page which is called hioney trap and a twitter which is called @honeytrapfilm i think this is good that try have these as they can promote their film in many places and get plenty of viewers

GOTG is being marketed in many places. it is being marketed on buses it is being advertised as a poster where the train goes, so as you are waiting for your train you can read about it and may be interested I think this is a good idea as most people catch train as it is one of the quickest ways to travel London.

What I have learned

WHAT HAVE I LEARNED

I have learned that the film industry is all a long process. You have to start by planning what you are going to do. This takes time and this is when you havent even recorded your clips yet, so the time you could have used to film is being used to plan. However I have learned that planning is crucial in the film industry because without planning your film could come out completely wrong.

When you start filming you have to take different types of shots this is to make sure when you edit it is on point and it is effective. When you ake different shots this could make your film go from looking verage to semi professional!
The editing process also take a long time as you have to make sure it looks good for your audience, for example putting the right clips in the right place and adding different transitions. In our group we added music to our suede so it was more interesting to watch.

I have also learned that the film indutry takes a lot of promoting to make sure that your video gets the right views. It is hard to get views when you have no name to yourself. We distributed our video to many social netwroks. One of them is the well known Facebook. Pollie imported the video into her facebok where she got 12 likes one comment and 66 views altogether on he vdeo which keeps arising.

Film Chain OBED DONKOH

FILM CHAIN

PRODUCTION

PRE PRODUCTION
This is the stage where all the planning takes place. During pre-production, the production is broken down into scenes one by one and all the props, cast members, locations, costumes, visual effects and special effects are identified.

PRODUCTION
This is the stage where all the filming is done. All scenes in pre-production are filmed, each scene is filmed as many times as the director says. This to ensure the best  scenes will be used to make the film.

POST-PRODUCTION
This is the stage where the film is edited by the editor. The film editors job is to build a rough cut taken from sequences based on the shots. The purpose of the rough cut is to select the best shots.

DISTRIBUTION
A distributor can help market and generate sales for your film. The person who normally distributes a film is a professional film distributor. They would determine the marketing plan for the film and may set the release date and other matters. The film may be shown directly to the public either through a movie theatre, television or personal home viewing for example DVD-Video, video-on-demanddownload and television programmes.
Often feature films have different distributors standing for them in different places and different distributors handling the home-viewing system. independent film distribution in the UK is managed by indie distributors such as Metrodome, optimum releasing and Momentum.

MARKETING

Marketing is the process of communicating the value of a product to people who want it.
After spending millions of pounds on making a movie, the production company spends millions more on letting audiences know about it.

Films have a small/tight distribution window, which leads to a limited shelf-life. They may play in cinemas for as long as six months, sometimes for a week. The marketing has to happen at absolutely the right time to get audiences into cinemas and keep them coming. The movie studio may begin marketing a movie six to eight months before the release date, especially to create "a buzz" for an event movie, using teasers for example posters and short viral videos).
Marketers take an idea and spread it wide. Distributors build a channel that they control and that is used to connect things to people. This is the difference between marketing and distribution.

EXHIBITION
An exhibition is an organized presentation and displays different items. Exhibitions usually occur within museums, galleries and exhibition halls, and World's Fairs
Today in this society we get to see different films in many different ways. For example you could go to the cinema and watch a film. This is one of the most basic ways to watch a movie. another way is downloading it on your computer. This is a quick and convenient way as then you wouldn't need to pay and you could get comfortable and put your feet up. You can also watch films of different applications for example, YouTube Netflix. YouTube movies may have a slight lower quality than Netflix as people have put the videos on YouTube manually.
People get to see films in many different ways. One of them would be cinemas. You could go to the cinemas to watch a movie with a group of friends, in a couple or simply just by yourself!

Swede Film

We did some research on different swedes to gain a insight on what we may need to include in our swede, we did this by using YouTube. Here is an example of a Swede that we found:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OTAY3A7sBTM.
As you can see from this Swede  is that it's very low budget which in returns makes it unintentionally humourus. From this we reliased that we can make our Swede funny by trying to make it as low budget as possible which would make our Swede more intresting which would hopefully widen our audience.

Introduction to Group 3

Hello, we are group 3! We are going to be producing a Swede film which is a very very low budget remake of a film. We aim to create a marketting campaign to generate public intreset in our Swede, as we aim to gain as many hits as possible. Thank you  :)
