Honeytrap has been selected for the BFI London Film Festival and will have its World Premiere in the ‘Dare’ section on October 17th!

Budget

The film was made on a very tight budget, with Rebecca and her team using whatever resources they had to get it made. As well as relying on the support of local businesses and cafes during shooting, Honeytrap was partially crowd-funded through the site Indiegogo. “People went out of their way to help us, and for that I’m very grateful,” says Rebecca.

Rebecca biggest challenge: ''The film was made on a tiny budget, so there were many challenges in that. Honeytrap wasn’t really a story that really fit on a micro-budget scale, i.e., three characters in one location. It had a multitude of characters and many locations, plus several big set pieces: the murder, the bus ride, big crowd scenes, fight scenes, and so on.''

Synergy.
Their was no interaction between the Bright House Studios and another company. This is because it was on a micro budget movie. However it was an official selection for the BFI film festival.

Since it is an independent film on a low budget it is only being screen in cinemas. No information is out as to whether the film will be released on to DVD.

However it is available at cinemas  in HD and is currently being showed
at the British Film Festival

'The best superhero movie I've ever seen'

'I know, I know. This will incontrovertibly attract a lot of hate from die-hard Dark Knight fans, but guess what? I'm one of those who thinks Nolan is the epitome of how to make a perfect superhero spectacle. '

'This film will blow your mind. Quite literally, it is jam-packed with edge-of-your-seat action thrills and pure comedic gold. Don't be expecting a moody companion piece like that of Nolan's trilogy, or Man of Steel. It keeps more in touch with Avengers, although it's a lot funnier and really builds upon the upcoming Infinity Gauntlet arc. '

'The actors are incredible, matching the character developments, the dialogue and action sequences are spectacular and the visual effects should surely earn a nod come Oscar time, as I'd personally put them on par with those seen in the recent Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. The run length compliments the well-scripted pacing of the movie itself, whilst plenty of interesting secondary characters litter Guardians with an ensemble cast that has exceeded anything yet seen in the Marvel/DC movie worlds. I don't pertain to the DC versus Marvel argument, but this masterpiece alone has certainly put Marvel on the front foot in terms of cinema outings, far surpassing the very enjoyable Man of Steel and, I believe, edging out Nolan's trilogy and then some. '

'I thoroughly recommend this for any with a borderline sci-fi/superhero love, and advise you to remain for the tantalising post-credits scene, although many of the non-comic fans might not get the references.

'Easily a perfect ten out of ten for me.'

My personal experience

I went to see this film during the summer at Westfield cinema in 3D and i can surely say that it was the best film ive seen in my life! It was so engaging  funny though it was a bit rude in terms of language so it puzzles me why Marvel advertise this film for children. Despite this it was a really funny and intresting film that deserves an Oscar not only for acting but for visual effects beacause ironically the special effects and CGI were out of this world!

USE OF CGI

It’s no secret that James Gunn used a live raccoon on set in order to help animators accurately capture the motion and behaviors of a raccoon for their CGI model; however, Gunn spoke to the magazine Small Furry Pets and revealed that – as you may have guessed – working with a real animal is probably the most difficult way you could go -Screen rant.com
James Gunn
''We needed a raccoon to study how he looked and his behavior, so that our on-screen raccoon, which is generated through CGI will be realistic. Our Rocket is based on a combination of our voice actor, Bradley Cooper, our on-set actor, my brother Sean Gunn, the movements and behavior and look of Oreo [the raccoon], as well as my own animation.”''

Also the Special effects makeup designer David White took head and body casts of actors, such as Bautista, to experiment with materials used to create the characters. White said, "James always pushed for practical and makeup effects. He wanted, like me, to see the real deal there on set! How exciting!

This concludes my post :)

Social Media Reactions To Swede….

What I have learned

WHAT HAVE I LEARNED

I have learned that the film industry is all a long process. You have to start by planning what you are going to do. This takes time and this is when you havent even recorded your clips yet, so the time you could have used to film is being used to plan. However I have learned that planning is crucial in the film industry because without planning your film could come out completely wrong.

When you start filming you have to take different types of shots this is to make sure when you edit it is on point and it is effective. When you ake different shots this could make your film go from looking verage to semi professional!
The editing process also take a long time as you have to make sure it looks good for your audience, for example putting the right clips in the right place and adding different transitions. In our group we added music to our suede so it was more interesting to watch.

I have also learned that the film indutry takes a lot of promoting to make sure that your video gets the right views. It is hard to get views when you have no name to yourself. We distributed our video to many social netwroks. One of them is the well known Facebook. Pollie imported the video into her facebok where she got 12 likes one comment and 66 views altogether on he vdeo which keeps arising.

What have you learned about the film industry from this experience…?

During the making of our swede, I have learnt various of different things. I have learnt that making  film or even a short film isn't as easy as you think. A lot of hard work and thought has to go into planning the production of a film. You have to think of all the different elements that are in a film and what you would need to do or have to make it successful. Once your planning and filming is complete, you then go onto editing your film. This could be said to be the most important part as this is where the filming is put together and a film is produced. This is what really makes it a film. Considering the sound effects, visual effect, music and transition etc to make your film as perfect as you possible could get it. The film industry isn't only hard and a lot of work, but it can also be a fun experience. The enjoyment you get out of seeing your finally piece is phenomenal. To think we only made a short film in a short amount of time, and to get the quality that we got made us all as a group very proud. To think what a Hollywood producer must feel like after making a successful blockbuster? Overall this experience was very enjoyable and eventful. I have gained many skills during the making of our swede, and have also learnt a lot. The film industry seems to be an awarding experience.

Film Chain - Pollie Whaley

Production...

There is more then one stage that is involved in producing a film. There is... ~Pre-production.
                          ~Production
                          ~Post-production.
                          ~Distribution.

Pre-production... Is the stage where all the planning for the production takes place. In this stage the production is broken down into scenes, and all locations, props, cast, costumes, special effects and visual effects are planned. This seems to be where the production is planned and the first big decisions are made.

Prouduction... Is the stage where all the filming is made/filmed for the production. This is where they follow the pre-production decisions. Everything in this section must have been filmed properly as it will then effect the post-production, therefore in the production things may be filmed over and over again.

Post-production... This is the sage where the film is then put together by an editor. This is where all the final touches are made to the film. In this section they add special effects, music, transitioning from scene to scene. Once the fine cut has been made, the producers and directors will then view it and decide whether to approve of it and "lock" the picture of for the editor to make some final adjustments.

Distribution... This is where the final cut then goes into cinemas and then is screened to public which then later on is released as a home video.

The main producers of films in America are...

~ Steven Spielberg
~ Jerry Bruckheimer
~ Martin Scorsese
~James Cameron
~ Michael Mann

The main film studios...

The person or persons that own the studio may have some impact on what films the studio makes. The person or persons who own the studios may have different budgets when making films, some could be bigger then others. This will then impact the what films are made in a particular studio.

Independent productions are... professional film productions which are made outside of the major film studios.

Distribution...

Film distribution is the process of making a film be seen by an audience, in other words its similar as advisement. This done by a professional film distributor, they will normally determine the marketing strategy for the film, this therefore enabling a film to me available for viewing and release into a cinema to be screened by an audience.

Usually a film would go into a cinema and be screened there, but due to the growth of mass media, latest releases are now able to be viewed on Sky TV, Netflix ect.

The traditional way to distribute a film is by screening it in a cinema.

A newer way of distributing a film could be by streaming it to somewhere you can gain an audience such as on Sky TV or on Netflix.

Film Festivals... A film festival is an organised, extended presentation of a film in                                                         more then one cinema or screening venues.

If a film hasn't secured a distribution deal, their film may never be viewed by a larger audience whereas if i had secured a distribution deal it would be screened in a cinema and will consequently be view by a large audience.
